In Progress: One of my pieces I coiled and the other one I made on the wheel. The process of the coil piece is that I cut out a cardboard outline and tried to follow it. Then I began to build it up and smooth it out. The process for the wheel piece was that I just threw a piece of clay on the wheel. It took me a couple of tries to throw the piece on the wheel. Some difficulties I had were throwing on the wheel and the thickness of my coil piece. Some things that were successful were my out come of both of my pieces. I don't have a plan I am just going to put random designs on my pieces now. My plans have changed dramatically with the size of my wheel piece.
Finished: The process of pitfire and saggar is to dig a hole and line it with flammable materials. Then you wrap your piece in tinfoil and have lots of other things inside the tinfoil like dog food, salt, and saw dust. Finally you light the fire and wait for it to burn out and then cool off, then you can take your piece off. I feel like my piece was very successful even though it was all random. Somethings I would change would be the use of different materials. I burned dog food, salt, saw dust, egg shells, and wood.
